Our visit to North Dakota
Our visit started with a picnic with Grandma Judy's side of the family. It was nice to visit with some people that I hadn't seen for many years. Sache had fun playing with cousins she hadn't met before.
We also had a good time enjoying the beach at the cabin. It was beautiful this year. There was so much sand that Sache and Auntie Tina were going to build a sand castle. But Sache ditched the effort and just started scraping the sand while Auntie built the castle.
On our way back we hit a really bad hailstorm. After about 10-15 minutes of hail it looked like it had snowed. It was scary!
Visiting the Farm
We loved our visit to the farm to see Dallas and Arlet and Liz, Isaac, and Graham. Isaac and Sache are both so vocal it was fun to watch them play (and try to boss each other around).
At one point they became Superheroes (Sache morphed into a Superhero princess at one point). They used their super abilities to catch the kittens and bring them into the house. Graham has his own super baby powers. Before we left we exchanged presents and Sache got a crown to really show off her princessness.
4th of July
For the 4th we went to Nikki and Justin's house. We had a yummy steak lunch on their beautiful patio and Malachi and Sache played in the pool. At one point both of their behinds were in the air as they looked at a bug.
After lunch Sache and Guy got to ride on the 4 Wheelers. Sache wasn't so sure but Guy had a good time.
Kansas City Zoo
We spent a day in Kansas City before coming home. Most of the day was spent at the KC Zoo. It was beautiful but so HOT!!! Sache enjoyed being the "map reader" and ignored many of the animals while performing this job. She did say that her favorite animal that she saw was the Cheetah. Sadly, we were exhausted and didn't see the whole zoo. Thank goodness they had a tram to take the tired and drop them off at the entrance.
Our Trip to Kansas
In June we visited Guy's grandparents in Lawrence, Kansas. It was a long drive! Sache got sick (we think car sick) the first night when we were driving really late and threw up twice. The trip went much better after that! The farm in Lawrence was very green and beautiful and it was so nice to see Grandpa and Grandma. Grandma is a wonderful cook and made Guy his favorite carrot cake and Billie a yummy rhubarb cobbler. We got to ride on Grandpa's gator around the farm and see the livestock and their amazing garden. Sache enjoyed seeing the cows. Her favorite person to hang out with though was Guy's cousin, Kim.
