Bugs and Worms

We finally had a nice weekend so Sache and mommy were planting flowers while daddy was fixing parts of our fence. As we are spending the day outside Guy and I will occasionally hear bloodcurdling screams from our daughter and then she will run to us crying. One time it was an ant. Another time (or two) it was a bee. Then there are flies- she has always hated flies.


The strange part is that as I am digging in the dirt, she gets so excited when I find worms. As I find the worms I give them to her and she digs a hole in another flower bed and puts them in. At one point she had a worm in her arms rocking it like a baby. She has assigned each worm that she has placed in the dirt a role in the family- there is a mom and dad worm, brother, sister, cousin, etc.


The last scream of the day, before I decided to take her inside, was when she said "A spider was trying to eat my worms and it scared me!" So, in Sache's world, worms are great and bugs are bad.

Sache's Art

Sache loves to create things. She has been getting really good at drawing lines and people and starting to make letters. But even I was surprised when she brought me this picture today. It stars Sache on the left, Daddy in the middle, and Mommy on the right.

Sache's First Valentine's Day Party

I was ridiculously excited over Sache's first Valentine's Day party at preschool. I remember making the boxes when I was in Elementary school and how much fun it was to get all of the little cards (and candy of course). She went to school on Valentine's Day all revved for the party. When I picked her up at school I expected to hear stories of her day- instead found out that the party was postponed due to an outbreak of Influenza (which we later caught). So, we have pictures from the day our party was suppose to happen and the day it did happen. Always the fashion diva, she has on her special cupcake party clothes for both.

My Sweet Valentines

I am so blessed! I have a wonderful loving husband and a beautiful precocious daughter. These pictures are among my favorites. Each was taken around Valentine's Day but a year apart. You can really see how Sache is losing her baby face and turning into a little girl. It is fun, exciting, and sad all at once!

"I bought it on eBay"

Most of you probably know my love of all things eBay. It has gotten even worse lately. Sache has been getting into Barbie so I have been getting into the auctions. I had no idea there was so much stuff for Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Kelly, Shellie, KoKo, Krissy, Midge, Ken, Todd, etc....

Someone posted this video on a messageboard I love, so I thought I would put it here. The song is from Weird Al (who Guy and I both love) and some kids acted it out. It is HILARIOUS to me! I hope you enjoy!

Barbie vs. The Chessmaster

You may be thinking, WHAT??? But this was actually what we considered naming our blog. Barbie for Billie and The Chessmaster for Guy (I'm sure you could have figured that out on your own). Billie's best friend Liz was our inspiration for creating a blog. She does such a good job of updating everyone on her family and showing pictures! We figured it would be a way to share pictures of Sache and our family and what we are doing. Since we are always HORRIBLE about sending pictures it will be a way for us to update far away family on our lives.
